EduAction had the opportunity to partner with Sony EMCS Malaysia in delivering an engaging experiential learning programme designed to strengthen teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal connections across the organization.
The programme featured a series of impactful simulations, including:
Each activity was carefully designed to challenge participants to step out of their daily routines, work together in new ways, and experience the power of collaboration beyond departmental boundaries.
In many organizations, employees naturally operate within defined roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures. While necessary for business operations, these boundaries can sometimes limit opportunities for genuine connection and collaboration.
Through experiential learning, participants were given the opportunity to interact as teammates first, rather than job titles.
As shared by the Head of Software Development at Sony EMCS Malaysia, Michael Christersson:
This shift created an environment where participants could engage on equal footing, contributing ideas, supporting one another, and working together towards common goals.
Throughout the programme, participants faced challenges that required communication, trust, leadership, and teamwork.
Whether navigating obstacles in Mount Tiki, coaching and supporting one another in Coach to Win, demonstrating collective strength in Herdcules, or solving challenges together during the im’Possible Team Challenge, every experience reinforced the importance of collaboration.
The programme also encouraged interaction between employees who may not typically work together in their daily roles.
These shared experiences helped break down barriers, strengthen relationships, and build a greater sense of unity across the organization.
One of the greatest benefits of experiential learning is its ability to create lasting connections that extend beyond the programme itself.
According to Sony EMCS Malaysia’s leadership team:
By creating opportunities for meaningful interaction and collaboration, the programme helped participants develop stronger relationships that can positively impact communication, teamwork, and workplace culture long after the event concludes.
While the programme delivered valuable learning outcomes, it also ensured participants had an enjoyable and memorable experience.
At EduAction, we believe that people learn best when they are actively engaged, emotionally connected, and having fun. Through carefully designed experiential learning activities, participants not only enjoy the experience but also gain valuable insights that can be applied back in the workplace.
The Sony EMCS Malaysia programme successfully helped participants:
Most importantly, it reminded participants that great teams are built not by job titles, but by the relationships and connections people create with one another.
Because when people connect as individuals first, they perform better as a team
