Blending Self-Awareness, Teamwork, and Adventure into a Meaningful Learning Experience

EduAction had the pleasure of partnering with Magnum Ice Cream to deliver an experiential learning programme designed to strengthen collaboration, communication, adaptability, and self-awareness through a combination of immersive team challenges and experiential learning activities.

The programme featured four engaging learning experiences:

  • A-maze-on
  • Melaka Heritage Hunt
  • Warp Speed
  • Colour Personality

Together, these activities created a learning journey that helped participants better understand themselves, strengthen relationships with colleagues, and develop the teamwork skills needed to succeed in a dynamic business environment.

Understanding People, Strengthening Teams

The programme began with Colour Personality, where participants explored different behavioural styles, communication preferences, and working approaches.

Through greater self-awareness, participants gained valuable insights into their own strengths while learning to appreciate the diverse perspectives and contributions of others.

The session reinforced an important workplace lesson: effective teamwork begins with understanding people.

By recognizing and adapting to different personality styles, teams can communicate more effectively, reduce misunderstandings, and build stronger working relationships.

Navigating Uncertainty Together

Participants then experienced A-maze-on, a simulation designed to challenge trust, communication, and collaboration.

As teams navigated uncertainty and obstacles together, they discovered the importance of relying on one another, sharing information, and maintaining focus despite changing circumstances.

The experience highlighted how trust and effective communication enable teams to navigate challenges more successfully.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

One of the highlights of the programme was the Melaka Heritage Hunt, an immersive city-based challenge that combined exploration, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Working together to complete missions across Melaka’s historical landmarks, participants were required to plan, communicate, adapt, and make decisions as a team.

The activity transformed the city into a learning environment where participants experienced firsthand how collaboration and adaptability contribute to achieving shared goals.

At the same time, the experience created memorable moments that strengthened team bonds and encouraged greater interaction among colleagues.

Continuous Improvement Through Action

The programme concluded with Warp Speed, a high-energy simulation that demonstrated the power of teamwork, process improvement, and collective learning.

Participants quickly learned that achieving better results was not about working harder, but about working smarter together.

Through multiple rounds of execution and reflection, teams improved their performance by refining communication, improving coordination, and making small adjustments that produced significant improvements.

The activity reinforced the value of continuous improvement and collective accountability in driving team success.

The Outcome

The Magnum Ice Cream programme successfully helped participants:

  • Develop greater self-awareness
  • Improve communication and interpersonal understanding
  • Strengthen teamwork and collaboration
  • Build trust and adaptability
  • Foster a mindset of continuous improvement

Most importantly, participants experienced how understanding people, embracing challenges, and working together can transform individual strengths into collective success.

Because great teams are built when people understand themselves, appreciate one another, and move forward together towards a common goal.
